RM: I’m having a blast!

I’m getting used to the great culture of Colombia! Well, everything except for the arepas. This tasteless flatbread has been the subject to most of the jokes here in Cali. This city is so beautiful and vibrant!

Today I had the chance to take a stroll outside with some of the other delegates, and we discovered a cat park. In fact, about 5 minutes away from our hotel is a park filled with various cat statues. It’s heaven for any cat lover. ☺

Besides the sightseeing, I have learned a lot during our workshops. For instance, yesterday, we had a very interesting conference by a doctor from the “Ligue La Leche” or the “Milk League”. She was advocating about the importance of breastfeeding babies. In fact, breastfeeding not only provides benefits for the baby but for the mother as well. Some examples include reducing the risk of obesity and diabetes for the babies in later life as well as allowing the mother to bond with her child and reducing her risk of hypertension. Please note that is of utmost importance to breastfeed for at least 6 months. I encourage you to get informed about this interesting topic.

I can’t wait to see what lies ahead!
