Oct 19 – Kenji Williams violin performance in collaboration with NASA
This was one of the most impressive musical performances I have experienced. Kenji Williams, a renowned violinist, took us on a journey through space with a multi-media art presentation that involved images of the universe with the themes of eerie atmospheric violin compositions. Images were combined of both natural phenomena as seen from outer space, as well as natural disasters like forest fires in the Amazon and the Mexico Gulf oil spill. The idea of the artwork was simple: « When we look at the earth from outer space, all our differences and borders disappear and we realize that we have this one little fragile earth that we must protect. »
