Objectives – Elyse Perron
Since this is my first meeting and I don’t really know what to expect, there is a chance that my objectives will change slightly. However, based on everything I have heard, here is what I think I can expect to accomplish:
- Gain a better understanding of the goals and impacts of research exchanges for students that participate in these. This will be done through conferences with my standing committee. I will also continue to pursue this objective once the general assembly is done by having regular interactions with students who have participated in these exchanges.
- Learn more about the organisation of the research exchanges on an international level. This would be done throughout the assembly. This objective is somewhat linked to the first one, as I believe that better knowing the organisation would help me understand its impacts.
- Gain a better understanding of other initiatives and projects being carried out by IFMSA worldwide, but more specifically, in Quebec. I would be very much interested in gaining more insight on medical education and the differences that exist around the world. This would be done at the project fair during the meeting and by staying in contact with people from those different committees once I get back to Quebec.
