Have you gotten your sticker yet?

Stickers, stickers and more stickers. We’ve been handing out so many stickers that people refer to us as the « sticker men ». Okay, that’s not true, but it could be… Needless to say the promoting of the potential AM2018 Montreal is going very well. We even wrote a statement for the final plenary today, which was comprised of various hilarious references to Montreal, Quebec and Canada (including the promise of Justin Trudeau riding a caribou). The statement ended with us asking who hadn’t received a sticker yet. To our disappointment, many people raised their hands. Looks like we still have a lot of work to do…

Yesterday, the highlight of the day was the activities fair, where we presented 3 projects: Pre-departure training for exchanges, « Bonbons, bons dons » and InCommunity. We also got the chance to walk around to hear about other projects; it was great! I included a funny picture of me and Raphael presenting « Bonbons, bons dons ».

Yesterday’s plenary (voting of policy statements and new EB members) actually finished before 10 PM!!! Everyone is so impressed with the Plenary Team and the chairperson. Of course, it’s great to be a part of this.

Today, sessions came to an end. I realize that I didn’t have much time to attend since I was always correcting the minutes for the plenary. I managed to track down one of the program representatives for Communicable Diseases and he was thrilled to hear about our Neglected Tropical Diseases project. I also met with the Pre-GA coordinator to discuss some of the problems that the OC had to deal with.

I look forward to building on these new friendships and projects. I also look forward to the second part of my journey: exploring the Balkans. It feels like I haven’t been out of the hotel in a week (which is actually fairly accurate). Don’t forget to read my last blog post in which I will reflect on the objectives that I set for this GA.
