Clinical immersion courses in resource-limited settings lasting 5-6 weeks (excluding transport days). These are observation and initiation courses in global health.

During the summer. The dates will be determined between you, once the small groups for the different villages are formed. You will decide which weeks are right for you. The official dates of your internship will therefore be those of your plane tickets.

** Please note, students from the same village must make sure to arrive at the same time, ± 1 day apart if one of them wishes to travel before or after the internship. **

Peru: In Iquitos

Benin: In Porto-Novo, Comé, Abomey and Dassa

Rwanda: In Butare

China: In Guilin

The famous question. Everything is at your expense (plane ticket, accommodation, food, etc.), unless you manage to get scholarships or fundraising.

Participation and logistics fees of $ 390 (+ $ 50 deposit) : This includes meals during training, reimbursement for carpooling, travel for speakers, etc.

** Warning. These fees must be paid within 14 days of receiving the internship offer in order to reserve the place assigned to you. **

Peru: Among local families!

Benin: In local families! A different family per person.

Rwanda: To be determined

China: In a youth hostel near the hospital.

Take it easy! The training days are very well organized and above all very complete. You will receive all the information you need when and where you need it! You will see, SCOI is not stressful!

Group formation

This concerns internships in Benin, participants must travel in small groups of 4 people. These will be determined during the first training when the participants get to know each other a little better. It is also during this training that the distribution of the different villages will be made.

For Peru, China and Rwanda, everyone is leaving at the same time, in the same place.

If both applicants are accepted and receive an offer for the same country, they will certainly work together since the sub-groups are decided by the participants. For accommodation, it depends on the environment (see above) but otherwise, the two candidates will never be far away.

These are awarded according to the classification of the students following the evaluation of the application questionnaire, according to their order of preference, until the different environments are complete. Students not receiving an offer are placed on a waiting list until all places are filled. However, applications deemed inadequate will not be accepted.

Peru: an intermediate level of Spanish is required

Benin and Rwanda: French with professionals

China: English with doctors
