Immersions offered to incoming students
In the four medical universities of Quebec, foreign students can do a clinical immersion in a Quebec hospital through IFMSA-Quebec. These internships are very enriching because they allow you to acquire new medical and cultural knowledge.
The clinical internship offered is at the clerkship level and lasts 4 weeks. For more information on specialties, as well as general and specific exchange methods, please visit the following website.

Immersions offered to outgoing students
Once again this year, IFMSA-Quebec is pleased to offer you the possibility of doing clinical exchange immersions abroad! You will have the opportunity to live an enriching experience both academically and culturally.
The IFMSA exchange season runs from April 1st of the current year until March 31st of next year. This means that you can go on an exchange anytime between these dates (as long as the host country can accommodate you during the period you have chosen).
Note: Country names with an asterisk (*) offer internships to preclinical and clinical students. The other countries only offer internships to clinical students. You can only apply for clinical-level internships if you will be in clerkship when you want to do your internship or if you will have completed your preclinical by the time of your internship (for example, the summer between preclinical and clerkship).

« La Tunisie, c’est passer des vacances sur d’incroyables plages, être fasciné par le mystère et la beauté du désert, se perdre dans les souks. Mais tout ça, on peut le vivre en y allant en tant que touriste. Faire un stage IFMSA en Tunisie, c’est encore beaucoup plus que ça. « Durant mon stage de traumatologie à Hambourg, j’ai souvent eu la furtive et brève envie d’être à la place du patient qui consultait pour une brèche dans une partie de son ossature. Ma raison reprenait alors rapidement le contrôle pour m’amener à préférer le rôle de l’étudiant en médecine à celui de l’alité. Il faut dire que l’hôpital où j’étais peut susciter l’envie pour bien des raisons : situé dans la ville la plus riche du pays, flambant neuf, garni d’équipements ultramodernes et occupés par des médecins dont la réputation dépasse les frontières du pays. J’y ai croisé des délégations de médecins chinois, brésiliens, états-uniens et australiens venus y parfaire leurs connaissances. J’y ai vu des délais d’attente minuscules à l’urgence, des professionnels zens et empathiques, des chambres colorées et ultra spacieuses et des croissants servis pour déjeuner. Oui, l’Allemagne que j’ai vue fait rêver… »
« Le Danemark, c’est la meilleure chose pour l’estime de soi : tout le monde est grand, blond, avec les yeux bleus, et de plus, ils ont un système de santé à faire envier le reste de la planète. Enfin, pour couronner le tout, les Danois sont ouverts, respectueux et accueillants. C’est pourquoi, devant toute cette perfection, nous nous devons de nous débaucher un peu dans les soirées internationales entre amis de toutes couleurs. Quel plaisir d’amalgamer découverte de la médecine et exploration du monde! »

L’Islande c’est aussi des gens accueillants et fiers de vous faire découvrir leur culture et leur médecine dans une langue qui ne sonne comme aucune autre. »

Russia : The internship is clinical. Must be completed by March 31, 2016. Unilateral internship $230 + host country fees (see exchange conditions).
Peru : The internship is clinical. Must be completed by March 31, 2016. Bilateral internship $330 + housing fees (see contract for housing conditions and different options). Good knowledge in SPANISH required.
Mexico : The internship is clinical. Must be completed by March 31, 2016. Bilateral internship $330 + housing fees (see contract for housing conditions and different options).
Greece : The internship is clinical. Must be completed between September 1, 2015 and March 31, 2016. Bilateral internship $330 + housing fees (see contract for housing conditions and different options).

Important note: UNILATERAL exchanges have additional fees to pay upon arrival in the country. These fees cover accommodation and the internship cost itself. Each country has a different cost (to be checked in the exchange conditions of the country in question).
