Last Day – Day 6

Last Day – Day 6

March 7th – Day 6

It is unbelievable but it is already the last day of the GA! In our morning SCORE session, we elected two members of the SCORE Supervising Board and had a workshop on leadership and teambuilding. While some of the workshops I attended were a bit disappointing, this one was a perfect way to end the GA! The facilitator did a great job, especially with the little time he had to do it. We started with a small game where we separated into two groups and were given two tasks to complete without saying a single word. In the first one, we had to build a statute (I wish we had a picture, but we did a pretty awesome job there) and in the second one, we had to build a machine using only our own bodies. This was followed by very interesting discussions. A very interesting concept I grabbed in this workshop was that of the Golden Circle discussed in a TED Talk by Simon Sinek. We were also presented with sub-regional trainings happening in the coming months (Turkey in April, Japan in August, Egypt in November, and Portugal in September) and trans-national projects (Research Workshop in Bulgaria and the Sudan Tropical Exchange Project). Lebanon also presented a very interesting Research Day that we will discuss with them in the near future. We finished the SCORE session with pretty emotional goodbyes and picture taking, with the hopes of reuniting very soon.

In the afternoon, we had a theme event during which the Hammamet Resolution on the post-2015 development agenda, the final wrap-up of a week of hard work! We then had a short plenary followed by a beautiful closing ceremony. We quickly changed and got ready to celebrate the end of an exhausting but motivating week with the National Food and Drinks Party, where each country brings their favorite culinary (and alcoholic) specialties. It sure was a remarkable experience that will be impossible to forget!
