IFMSA-Quebec is the International Affairs Division of the Quebec Federation of Medical Students (FMEQ). As such, it gathers all medical students in Quebec and its mission is to raise awareness and mobilize them around social, cultural and global health issues. Through its outreach projects, its international exchange programs and its policy statements, IFMSA-Québec is dedicated to improving health here and abroad.
To do this, the organization is actively involved on the local and national scenes on the four medical school campuses in Quebec, as well as within the International Federation of Medical Students’ Associations (IFMSA) internationally.
Its business activities are divided into seven standing committees, each headed by a national officer. Three of these committees offer exchange programs in the form of clinical exchanges, research exchanges and introduction to international cooperation internships. The other four committees, for their part, are the project committees concerned with sexual health, public health, global health and human rights and peace.
The organizational management and governance of IFMSA-Québec are provided by the Delegate for International Affairs of the Quebec Federation of Medical Students (FMEQ) that occupies the role of de facto president. The latter is assisted in his duties by an Executive Board consisting of a Secretary General and three Vice-Presidents (Internal, External and Finance) and by the team of national officers
